Acting on behalf of Ridgemount Homes Pension Scheme, BDT have been successful in reletting 10 Sarum Hill in Basingstoke.
One of our competitors in the surveying world, Hollis Hockley, decided to vacate the building in late 2019, upon lease expiry. The other tenant in the property, Haines Watts had previously vacated in late Summer last year.
BDT were employed by the privately owned pension scheme owners to try and relet the building, and failing that, offer a freehold sale with vacant possession.
As if to underline the paucity of supply for offices in central Basingstoke, the property attracted good levels of interest from the outset and has now been relet in its entirety to Economic Modelling UK Ltd (Emsi), who have moved into the 1,900 sq ft offices from their previous base on Basing View. A 10 year unbroken lease has been signed between the parties, at a rent which reflects between £15.00 – £16.00 per sq ft, per annum.
Emsi ( see www.economicmodelling.co.uk) were particularly keen on the self-contained nature of the building and its visibility/branding potential. They plan an extensive upgrade programme and a gradual expansion of staff into both floors.
