Following on from the announcement that Macmillan’s Basingstoke office staff are to be relocated into the 32,000 sq ft Cromwell Place office facility on Hampshire International Business Park, the Company have also signed a new lease for 8,400 sq ft of storage space.
The ground floor of Northgate, also on Hampshire International Business Park, will accommodate archive storage requirements and other associated uses. The building sits within very close proximity to Cromwell Place on the Park, located just to the north of Chineham.
The respective parties were represented by local surveyors in each case – Macmillan by London Clancy and the landlord, by BDT. Cromwell have now refurbished the premises to meet Macmillan’s requirements.
A new 10 year Lease was agreed with a tenant break clause mid way through the term. A rent of £7.00 per sq ft applies after an initial rent free period. Macmillan will relocate operations from their Houndmills site within the next few weeks, having sold this land for speculative warehousing development. The move underpins their continued commitment to the town, where they initially relocated in 1960’s.
