Three “good news” stories have emanated from Basing View over the past few weeks.
- Contractors are now on site undertaking ground works for the new Village Inn business hotel, to be positioned in between the AA’s Fanum House and the Renaissance office scheme. The hotel, once complete, will offer 150 rooms, a leisure club and conferencing facilities.
- The town’s first speculative office building, named The Florence Building has been completed and marketing is in full swing. The state of the art offices offer a large ‘collaborative’ reception area and five floorplates, totalling 61,415 sq ft. Quoting rents are expected to be announced at a level of £25.00 – £26.00 per sq ft, and there are rumours of improving interest levels for individual floors.
- On an adjoining plot of land, planning consent has now been granted for Eli Lilly & Company. Construction is thought to be funded by Basingstoke Council who will create a prime investment in the process, with the property having been prelet to Lilly’s on a lengthy occupational lease term. This deal is reported as being the first prelet office building in the M3 corridor for 7 years.
