In an ironic twist of fate, Motorola have recently leased a floor and a half at Midpoint, having been the original tenant for the entire building back in the 1990’s.
The building is situated within Alencon Link diagonally opposite Basingstoke’s mainline railway station. Motorola Solutions Ltd have leased half of the 1st floor (6,180 sq ft) and the whole of the 4th floor (13,420 sq ft), by way of new 5 year lease terms with earlier options to operate break clauses.
Staff are due to be relocated from the Motorola campus on Viables Business Park. Midpoint’s proximity to the railway service was a big factor in the decision because it is understood that the division in question will be servicing a Government contract, involving frequent travel by staff to and from central London.
BDT were employed as a joint agent for the owners of the building, The Skelton Group, who themselves, only purchased the property investment in 2019. The vacant and fully refurbished 1st floor was let at a headline rent of £22.00 per sq ft. A separate transaction was negotiated at 4th floor level on space formerly occupied by Aecom Ltd.
